"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, humility, meekness, and patience."
Colossians 3:12 (ESV)
Stephen Ministry is a program that equips lay persons in our congregation to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and in the community. Stephen ministers are pastors, church staff and/or lay persons who have completed a seven-day Stephen Series Leader's Training Course and are commissioned to lead the Stephen Ministry in the congregation.
You might consider receiving a Stephen Minister if you have been hospitalized, terminally ill, grieving a death or loss, having a job crisis, facing a life transition or dealing with aging and the elderly.
Stephen Ministry works in conjunction with the pastor to help a person talk through crises in his or her life. Stephen Ministers visit regularly those in need and offer Christian support and care. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance during the caring relationship.
This is a vital ministry in our church that enables our entire congregation to grow as a warm, loving , nurturing community where people are cherished.
Bellamy also provides a Grief Support group which meets every Tuesday evening at Bellamy at 6:00 p.m. Please go to the Grief Support page for more information.
